Czech IT distributor buys Romanian company

Czech IT distributor Alef Group has entered the Romanian market after taking over the local company Likeit Solution.

The invested amount, which has remained confidential, is expected to be recovered in the next 3-5 years, said Alef Group general director Milan Zinek.

The company plans to hire at least six engineers in the next year to support the expansion of the technical department. The Czech group will keep the Likeit team, as well as the company’s contracts and the network of partners.

Alef Group estimates sales of EUR 208 million for this year. It has nearly 290 employees and has entered into partnerships with major companies such as Cisco and Microsoft. The group also operates in countries such as the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia and Serbia.

By comparison, the Romanian firm Likeit Solution recorded a turnover of EUR 28 million in 2016.
