A real estate developer has brought the container housing concept in Romania, and offers cheap social housing based on this concept. Pam Consult Consortium showcases its project, with 100 apartments made of containers, at the ongoing tiMOn real estate fair in Bucharest.
The developer will build two-roomed apartments, each of some 27 sqm, spread over five floors, resulting in a compound worth some EUR 1.2 million. It sells such an apartment for EUR 12,000. The whole block will cover 3,200 sqm.
The container apartments re-use shipping containers in creating ecological, energy efficient housing. Most of the materials used for building such a block are re-usable. Green roofing and rain water collection system are usually also included in such projects.
The tiMOn real estate fair takes place in Bucharest between April 16 and 19 in the Constitutiei Square.
