19 October 2018

Romanian construction group Selina, controlled by local investor Beniamin Rus, plans to bring workers from Vietnam, Pakistan and Sri Lanka for building two sections of the Transylvania Highway, in Western Romania, local Digi24 reported.

Selina won the contracts for building two subsections of the Transylvania highway totaling 33.9 kilometers. The total value of these contracts amounts to RON 460 million (EUR 98 million).

The construction group says it plans to bring about 350 to 500 Asian workers to complete this project as it can’t find enough local workforce. The group currently has about 1,000 employees but says it needs over 1,500 to complete the highway, according to Beniamin Rus.
