Bucharest's’ Henri Coanda International Airport and the Baneasa International Airport saw a record number of over 9.2 million passengers and over 108,500 takeoffs and landings in 2015.

The number of passengers who transited the two airports increased by 11.6% compared to 2014. Most of the people transited the Henri Coanda Airport (Otopeni), with only 13,000 passengers recorded on the Baneasa airport, which is used only for private flights.

The evolution of the passengers' number surpassed the general tendency recorded in Europe.

The number of takeoffs and landings also saw a higher growth compared to the general trend at EU level. They went up by 6.4% compared to 2014.

Some 31 airlines currently operate at the Henri Coanda Airport.
