Bucharest Christmas Market, the largest winter holidays fair in the capital, will open today (November 27) at the Universitatii square. For a month, the capital’s downtown area will be filled with little cabins selling a variety of season products. Children will have the opportunity to meet and greet Santa Claus and leave letters for him prior to his coming.
Various traditional objects will go on sale, from painted ceramics to carved wood, icons and embroideries, traditional costumes and masks, wooden toys and musical instruments, hand-painted globes and various other decorations. Those visiting the fair will also get the chance to sample traditional Romanian food – cozonaci, mulled wine, sweet bread, magiun, honey and more.
