The Satu Mare City Hall will invest RON 128.4 million (EUR 27.7 million) in building the city’s third bridge over the Somes river, reports local Ziarul Financiar.

Satu Mare mayor Kereskényi Gábor and Adrian Gadea, state secretary in the Development Ministry signed the financing agreement yesterday. The project will receive funds of RON 81.3 million (EUR 17.5 million) via the second National Development Program.

The Satu Mare City Hall will grant RON 48 million (EUR 10.3 million) for building the bridge. The municipality will organize the auction for awarding the contract and then start the construction work, the Satu Mare mayor said.

The structure of the third bridge will be supported by two pillars, through special steel blades. It will have four lanes with two lanes in each direction, two sidewalks with a pedestrian shelter and a bicycle lane.
