Average net wage goes up 3% in Romania in November

The average net wage in Romania went up by 3% in November 2017 versus the previous month, reaching RON 2,464 (EUR 532), the National Statistics Institute (INS) announced on Friday.

When compared to the same month of 2016, the increase was 13.4%.

The highest average net wage was registered in the IT services sector, namely RON 6,157 (EUR 1,329). The lowest level was in the hotels and restaurants sector, with only RON 1,409 (EUR 304).

When compared to the previous month, the highest average net wage increases were recorded in the car manufacturing sector, namely 14%, followed by the printing and reproduction of recorded media sector, with 10.2%. Increases between 7% and 10% were recorded in the electrical and electronic equipment industry, tobacco industry, financial services, scientific research and development, coal mining, and machinery and equipment industry.
