German BPO supplier opens office in Bucharest

German group Arvato Bertelsmann, a leading supplier of business process outsourcing (BPO) services in Europe, has officially started its operations in Bucharest.

The company’s Bucharest center works for German carmaker Opel and currently has 30 employees. It plans to increase the team to 80 people by the end of this year.

Arvato also appointed Daniela Micusan as general manager of its Romanian subsidiary Arvato Services.

“We aim to expand our presence in Romania and this partnership with Opel has come at the right time. We are currently recruiting for the office in Bucharest and we continue developing the other centers in Romania because we have found here well prepared and serious people who are willing to develop professionally. We want to reach 1,600 employees by year-end,” said Matthias Muller, nearshore customer services director Arvato Bertelsmann.

Arvato Romania currently has over 1,500 employees in three centers in Brasov, Sibiu and Cluj-Napoca, who offer integrated services in 14 languages for clients in the tech, gaming, e-commerce, auto, finance, hardware and software, sales and tourism sectors. The company had EUR 24.7 million in revenues last year.
