Amway appoints Ioana Enache to lead Romanian subsidiary

Direct sales company Amway appointed Ioana Enache general manager for its Romanian operations. Enache joins the direct sales outfit, replacing George Popescu, who left to be manager of the European sales department within Atlas.

Ioana Enache, with 19 years of experience in marketing, sales and communication, previously worked with GlaxoSmithKline, A&D Pharma and Petrom. For the last five years, she was a senior consultant, having worked for Petrom's projects, such as the Parks of the Future and Environmental Branding Petrom City. Check her full CV here.

Amway Romania was founded in 1997 and now operates in the whole country through 50,000 Amway authorized private entrepreneurs and 35 employees. The company is headquartered in Bucharest.

Amway Marketing Romania posted a turnover of EUR 21.66 million in 2010, down 21 percent on 2009.

The company made 26 percent of its turnover from nutritional supplements. It also sells home care products, personal care products, cosmetics and make up products. Worldwide, Amway is part of the giant Alticor. The company was set up in 1959 and currently runs businesses in 80 countries across the globe.
