Alro, the largest aluminum producer in continental Europe (excluding Russia and Scandinavia), will invest EUR 100 million to increase energy efficiency and reduce specific consumption.

It will implement the “Green Factory” concept. This means using green technologies available on the market that will enable aluminum to be produced with high profitability. They will contribute to meeting Alro's zero-waste and zero-emission targets.

The company plans total investments of over USD 190 million between 2017 and 2021. More than half of the amount is for energy efficiency projects.

Alro has completed more than USD 16 million investments in the first six months of this year in both the primary aluminum and the processed aluminum sectors.

The company has been listed on the Bucharest Stock exchange since 1997.
