The roads and sidewalks may become slippery in the coming days. The National Administration of Meteorology (ANM) issued on Thursday a yellow alert of glazed frost, moderate mixed precipitations, strong wind, and snow blizzard, which is valid between Friday, 05:00 and Saturday, 12:00.

The warning covers 33 counties. In this period, the mixed precipitation will gradually take over the west, center and north parts of the country, and will be associated with glazed frost, ANM says. In the northwest and mountain areas, the precipitation will exceed 20-25 liters per sqm.

Moreover, in the night from Friday to Saturday, and in the first part of Saturday, glazed frost will be present in Oltenia, west Muntenia, Transylvania, and Moldova regions. It will snow in the mountain areas, where the wind will also blow strongly, with up to 80 km per hour.

mixed precipitation alert (1)ANM also issued a warning of strong wind, which covers the entire country and is valid between Thursday, 13:00 and Friday, 05:00. The wind will blow with up to 70 km per hour in the mountains, and with 45-55 km per hour in the south-eastern, southern and central areas.

A blizzard hit the southern and southeastern parts of Romania on Tuesday night, affecting the traffic on several highways and national roads, but also leading to the canceling of more than 100 trains. However, some 100 trains were still canceled on Thursday, 14:00. Find the list here.
