Turkish fashion retailer wants EUR 50 mln turnover in Romania by 2018

Turkish fashion retailer Koton targets a turnover of EUR 50 million and a total of 25 stores in Romania by the end of 2018.

The company currently runs 12 stores in Romania, and plans to open three other units this year. It will first open a store in the Militari Shopping Center this month, then a store in Bucharest’s Old Town and a shop in the new shopping mall ParkLake in November, said Burak Akbulat, Koton Romania country manager, cited by local Ziarul Financiar.

The company entered the local market in 2007, when it opened a store in Bucuresti Mall, the capital’s first shopping mall.

The local fashion market is estimated at EUR 2 billion.
