Tourism Authority ads 12 villages in Romania to touristic resort list

26 October 2016

Romania’s National Authority for Tourism (ANT) will authorize 12 new resorts in Romania, based on an order of the ANT President Anca Paul-Nedea.

The main advantage of getting the resort status is the possibility to access more EU funds to develop activities related to tourism.

The new resorts are the villages of Sucevita and Pojorata in Suceava county, Banffy-Toplita and Borsec (Harghita), Negresti-Oas (Satu Mare), Baile Ocna Dej (Cluj), Sangiorgiu de Mures (Mures), Colibita (Bistrita Nasaud), Moinesti (Bacau), Baia de Fier (Gorj), Boghis (Salaj), and Moisei (Maramures).

The National Authority for Tourism also wants to create an “adequate urban identity”, by capitalizing on existing resources and renovating buildings in these villages, and to adequately connect them with the national road infrastructure.

Romania currently has 89 touristic resorts, 41 of which are of national importance, and 48 of local importance.
