Which are the top five Romanian exporters to the UK?

Ford Romania, the second largest car producer in the local market, was the largest Romanian exporter to Great Britain last year, according to the National Statistics Institute, reports local Ziarul Financiar.

The the top five is made up exclusively of companies active in the car and car parts manufacturing industry: Ford, Takata-Petri, Automobile Dacia, Sews Romania, and Draexlmaier.

Great Britain ranks fifth among top export destinations for goods produced in Romania, with total exports of almost EUR 2.4 billion last year. It was surpassed by Germany, Italy, France, and Hungary.

Great Britain has a share of 4.4% in Romania’s total exports, after the deliveries increased by 10% last year.

The largest importer from the UK was drug manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline.

The Romanian economy saw over 5,200 companies with British capital at the end of May, with a total capital of EUR 997 million, namely 2.49% of the capital invested by foreign investors on the local market.
