Three local actors honored at the Romanian Film Night this fall

Late Romanian actors Radu Beligan, Marin Moraru and Mircea Albulescu will be honored at the White Night of Romanian Film, an event that will be organized on September 16 in ten locations in Bucharest.

During the event, the public will have the chance to see the great Romanian actors playing some of their best roles in films such as Dupa-amiaza unui tortionar (The Afternoon of a torturer) directed by Lucian Pintilie, Operatiunea Monstrul (The Monster Operation) directed by Manole Marcus, and La capatul liniei (At the end of the line) by Dinu Tanase.

The White Night of Romanian Film’s lineup will also include documentaries and fiction films, as well as dramas, comedies, and thrillers. The public will get the chance to see Romanian films such as Ilegitim (Illegitimate) – which brought Adrian Sitaru the CICAE Art Cinema Award in the Forum section of the 2016 Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale), Lumea e a mea (The world is mine) directed by Nicolae Constantin Tanase, and Acasa la tata (Back Home) by Andrei Cohn.

The movie screenings will take place at Muzeul Taranului Cinema, Elvira Popescu Cinema, Casa Artelor Cultural Center, Titan and Crangasi parks, Unteatru, J’ai Bistrot, Deschis Gastrobar, Make a Point, and the Club of Alternative Education.

The event’s entire program is to be announced soon.

Mircea Albulescu, one of Romania’s greatest artists, died on April 8 this year. On July 20, the Romanian theater and cinema lost another one of its great actors: Radu Beligan. He died at a hospital in Bucharest, aged 97. Marin Moraru passed away on August 21.
