The Netherlands-Romanian Chamber of Commerce appoints new president

Bas van Hese, the director of Fokker Engineering Romania, is the new president of the board of directors of the Netherlands-Romanian Chamber of Commerce (NRCC).

He has replaced Robin Van Rozen, the former CEO of Philips South East Europe, who was appointed vice-president and general manager of Philips Personal Health UK & Ireland and left Romania.

Bas (Sebastiaan) van Hese, born in 1982 in The Netherlands, has been the director of Fokker in Romania since 2013. He has obtained a Master's degree from the University of Technology in Delft and finalized a graduation track at the Rutgers University in New Jersey, USA. After graduation he began his career in 2009 at Fokker Technologies, a Dutch leading global aerospace company, in a fast-track program for future leaders.

On May 1, 2015, he was elected to the NRCC Board of Directors.

“I am honored to be appointed President of the NRCC. My intentions are, together with the NRCC board and executive team, to keep enforcing the current strategy which aim is to grow the presence of the NRCC,” Bas van Hese said in a press release.

“We start this year deploying structural activities in Brasov, Constanta, and Cluj, cities where a large base of Dutch companies is operating. We will strengthen our member engagement through a series of dedicated events, transferring knowledge through our monthly knowledge centers and develop further our successful member driven sector-taskforces,” he added.

The NRCC’s board of directors also includes Irina Zugravu, Managing Partner of VAPRO Romania, Jan Glas, Managing Partner of TPA Horwath, Isfahan Doekhie, CEO of Management Service BLISS, Dan Stoica, Director at Wolters Kluwer, Herman Wierenga, Managing Director Central & Eastern Europe, ORTEC, Jan Willem Kivits, Managing Director, FrieslandCampina Romania, and Ronald Oort, Chief Risk Officer, ING Romania. The executive team is led by Maurits Dohmen, NRCC Executive Director.

The Netherlands-Romanian Chamber of Commerce (NRCC) actively supports and promotes the trade relations between the Netherlands and Romania. After 10 years of activity, NRCC’s network now includes more than 150 members, representing over 20 industries. NRCC is also active in Romania’s Coalition for Development.
