Telecom operator opens new data center in Romania's Cluj-Napoca

Telecom operator GTS Telecom, which is part of Deutsche Telekom group, opened a data center in Cluj-Napoca, north-west of Romania, following an investment of EUR 500,000 that will be increased to EUR 1 million in the next period.

Last year, the company completed an investment of EUR 1 million in expanding and modernizing its data center from Bucharest, which was opened in 2007.

The number of contracts for cloud and colocation services supplied by GTS Telecom went up by 25% in the last two years.

The Cluj-based data center was opened as the demand from local companies for this type of services has increased, said Razvan Stoica, GTS Telecom GM.
