Romania will be represented by 24 athletes at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, according to a statement of the Romanian Olympic Committee.
Athletes Alexandru George Barbu, Ioan Valeriu Achiriloaie and Ania Monica Germaine Cail will represent Romania in alpine skiing, while Paul Constantin Pepene, Daniel Pripici and Timea Sara will compete in the cross-country ski.
Romania has one athlete in the ski jumping discipline, namely Sorin Iulian Pitea, while two Romanians qualified for the biathlon – Cornel Dumitru Puchianu and Eva Tofalvi.
“We’ll be represented by Zoltan Kelemen at figure skating,” reads the statement.
Maria Adela Constantin, Andreea Grecu, Nicolae Istrate, Florin Cezar Craciun, Andreas Paul Neagu, Paul Septimiu Muntean, Danut Ion Moldovan and Bogdan Otava will compete in the bobsleigh, and Dorin Dumitru Velicu and Maria Marinela Mazilu will represent Romania at skeleton sled racing.
Also, Romanians Valentin Cretu, Alexandru Teodorescu, Nicolae Radu Sovaiala and Raluca Stramaturaru qualified for the luge competition.
The 2014 Winter Olympics will take place in Sochi, Russia, between February 7 and February 23, 2014.
