31 August 2016

Tax authorities have found that one of the most important providers of security services in Romania damaged the state budget by RON 80 million (EUR 18 million) by avoiding paying taxes.

The company failed to pay the VAT, the tax on profit, the tax on its employees’ income, as well as the tax on dividends, according to the tax authority ANAF.

The firm has kept a fictional accounting. It has submitted documents that were not consistent with reality to the tax authorities.

The company managed to get a tax certificate with zero obligations. This allowed it to take part in tenders organized by state institutions.
