Ryanair launches first low-cost flights from Bucharest to Berlin

20 April 2016

Irish low-cost airline Ryanair will operate a new route from Bucharest to Berlin starting September 2. Ryanair is the first low-cost company that launches flights on this route, which has been monopolized by airberlin in recent years.

Ryanair will have two return flights a day on this route. Tickets can booked on the company’s website. Prices for flights in September and October will have a promotional price of EUR 24.99 until midnight, April 21.

“For this summer, the Romanian clients and the tourists can choose from 11 routes operated by Ryanair from Bucharest, routes that will bring 1.6 million tourists to the airport and support 1,200 jobs,” according to a Ryanair statement.

Ryanair continued its expansion in Romania this year. In January, the company said it would open a base in Timisoara, western Romania, and launch domestic flights from Timisoara to Bucharest. Moreover, in mid-February, the airline announced the opening of a new base Bucharest’s Henri Coanda International Airport.
