Romania’s trade deficit rises to EUR 1.26 bln

Romania’s trade deficit rose to EUR 1.26 billion in the first two months of the year, up EUR 267.5 mln compared to the same period of 2016, according to the National Statistics Institute (INS).

The exports amounted to EUR 9.75 billion in the first two months of this year, up 9.2% over the same period last year. Meanwhile the imports totaled EUR 11 billion, following an annual advance of 10.9%.

The exports inside the EU amounted to EUR 7.4 billion whereas the imports from within the EU reached EUR 8.3 billion. Romania exported products of EUR 2.34 billion outside the EU during this period and imported products of EUR 2.68 billion from outside the EU.
