Romania's railway operator CFR has EUR 218 mln budget for salaries

Romania’s state-owned CFR SA, the company that manages the country’s railway infrastructure, has budgeted salary expenses of RON 995.5 million (EUR 218 million) for this year, up 22.9% over the previous year.

The company’s budget for 2017 provides that revenues and expenses are equal, amounting to RON 4.88 billion (EUR 1 billion), reports local Agerpres.

Of the total amount, RON 1.2 billion (EUR 263 million) are personnel costs. Some RON 899.8 million (EUR 197 million) are salary expenses whereas RON 95.6 million (EUR 21 million) represent bonuses.

The railway operator has some 23,000 employees and the average salary in the company amounts to about RON 3,150 (EUR 690).

Some of CFR’s employees spontaneously stopped working yesterday.
