Romania’s Prime Minister Victor Ponta raised some Teutonic disapproval when he was booed at a celebratory meeting of the Romania Germany Chamber of Commerce.
The conference last night (September 5 ) was in celebration of the Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce’s tenth year. When the organizers invited the PM to speak, introducing him as Dr Victor Viorel Ponta, a member of the audience booed loudly, raising smiles around the room.
There was also murmuring and whispering among the audience during the PM’s speech, particularly when he referred to the political crisis and his regret over some of the comments he had made about Gemany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel, according to reports in the Romanian media.
