Romania’s People Palace opens for kids this week-end

28 May 2014

The People’s Palace in Bucharest, the second largest administrative building in the world, will open for children prior to Children’s Day.

The tour on Saturday, May 31, where children and their parents will have free access, will include the Chamber of Deputies’ presidential cabinet, two event rooms, and an official welcome room.

The Palace will be open for these tours between 10,00 and 16,00 on Saturday, June 1, and access will be made via the S1 entry towards the Izvor park.

In previous years, 14,000 children visited the Chamber of Deputies within the People’s Palace. On Children’s Day, the Romanian Parliament will be taken over by kids, who will be able to vote pieces of legislation they proposed. The special Children’s Parliament session will be led by the Chamber of Deputies speaker Valeriu Zgonea.
