Kaiser Chiefs (in picture), Ska-P, Utah Jazz and The Sweet Life Society are the first names confirmed to play at the Peninsula festival this year. The Romanian music festival, which this year changed location from Targu Mures to a 10-hectare plot in the Garbaului Valley area in Cluj – Napoca, will take place between July 18 and July 21.
British rock band Kaiser Chiefs formed in 1996. Their debut album Employment - released in March 2005, entered the UK Album Chart at number 3 and sold over 3 million copies. The second album Yours Truly, Angry Mob was released in 2007 and Ruby, the album’s lead single, became the biggest UK & European radio hit of that year. The band will perform in Romania on the first day of the festival, on July 18. More about Kaiser Chiefs here.
After the gig in 2010, Ska-P come back in Romania on July 20 this year. The band formed in 1994 and are currently one of the most popular ska bands in Spain, Europe, and Latin America. Their first CD Ska-P was released in 1994. The band’s official website here.
Drum and Bass DJ and producer Luke Wilson, better known as Utah Jazz, will also perform at this year’s edition of Peninsula festival. Utah Jazz released his debut album It’s A Jazz Thing in 2008, and it was the second highest ranked drum and bass album in Mixmag’s 2008 Top 50 poll. More about the British artist here.
The Sweet Life Society will perform for the first time in Romania on July 19, 2013. The two producers of this new music project – Gabriele Concas and Matteo Marini – perform live, accompanied by an eclectic ensemble made up of contrabass, trumpet, sax, clarinet and flute. Subscriptions cost between RON 150 and RON 240, depending the time of purchase and if camping is included or not, while one day tickets cost between RON 50 and RON 90.
