Romania’s Parliament Palace, in the dark after short circuit

A short circuit caused a small fire and left most of the Romanian Parliament Palace, the second biggest building in the world, in the dark, on Thursday morning, July 28.

The short circuit occurred during maintenance work at the building’s electrical installation, at the underground levels. The firefighters quickly put out the fire, but the electricity was cut in most of the building, according to Mediafax.

The Parliament’s activity hasn’t been impacted by this incident as the MPs are currently on their two-month summer holiday.
