Romania's National Prognosis Commission: GDP will grow by 4.8% this year

Romania’s National Prognosis Commission (CNP) has kept the same estimate on Romania’s economic growth for 2016 and 2017, namely 4.8%, respectively 4.3%, in comparison to the prognosis published in September.

According to the new estimate, the share of agriculture in the GDP will drop from 4.3% to 4.1% whereas the share of constructions will decrease from 7.7% to 7.6%. The industry’s share will stagnate at 22.6%, same as the net taxes on products (11.1%).

On the other side, the share of services will increase from 54.4% to 54.6%, according to the new estimate. The GDP will reach EUR 168 billion this year, and will grow to EUR 179 billion the following year.

Investments in the local economy will go up by 6.3% this year and by 6.9% in 2017, according to CNP’s forecast.
