Romania’s Government revives National Institute of Administration for training clerks

25 August 2016

Romania’s Government has decided to re-establish the National Institute of Administration (INA).

The institution will manage training civil servants, officials, clerks, and local representatives. It will take over the staff and assets owned by the National Agency of Civil Servants.

INA will operate under the coordination of the Regional Development Ministry. The institution will have new powers compared to the old structure, according to the Government.

It is a public institution of national interest, with legal personality. It will cover the training needs of all the civil servants working in public institutions.

INA was set up in 2001 by the Adrian Nastase Government. It was then abolished in 2009 by the Emil Boc Government and replaced with the National Agency of Civil Servants.
