Sectors such as IT, BPO, manufacturing, and retail offered most new jobs in Romania last year, according to H&R firm Smartree. The automotive, logistics, and healthcare segments also employed many people.

The IT sector offered the highest salaries, followed by the automotive sector.

Bucharest, and the western part of the country, including cities such as Cluj or Timisoara, saw the most recruitments. The eastern part of the country records the lowest level of development, due to the low industrialization rate.

The recruitment trends on these segments will be maintained this year, according to Smartree experts.
