Terapia Sun Pharma, the largest producer of generic drugs in Romania, recorded a turnover of EUR 121 million last year, up by 3.4% over the previous year.

The net profit amounted to EUR 22 million, 14.3% higher than in 2014.

Exports represent a quarter of the company’s turnover, said Terapia GM Dragos Damian, reports local Profit.ro. Exports are an alternative to the harsh conditions on the Romanian market, he said. He referred to the clawback tax and the drop in the drug prices.

Together with Biofarm, Terapia is the second local pharma producer that recorded an increase in its profit last year. Two other large local producers, Zentiva and Antibiotice, posted lower profits in 2015.
