Romania's Government launches online platforms for local university system

19 August 2016

Romania’s university system will be fully computerized, according to a draft government decision.

The Government will launch a series of online platforms providing information about the universities and their students. These will include the Single Registry of Universities in Romania, which will gather state and private universities’ registry books, reports local Economica.net.

Another platform is the Integrated Education Registry, which will provide detailed information about students’ and graduates’ educational paths. This registry will generate the educational profiles of students and graduates, and will contribute to the formulation of future educational public policy. Students have real time access to their profiles whereas authorities such as the Education Ministry or the National Statistics Institute have access to all data in the two registries.

Another platform is dedicated to the employability of college graduates. The platform links information from universities’ educational offers to the actual work offer.

The three platforms will be inter-connected and inter-operational.
