The Romanian Social Democratic Party (PSD) president Liviu Dragnea said yesterday at the start of the PSD-ALDE session groups that the wage law draft would not be submitted to the Parliament during the day because it needed to be consulted by all MPs and people should “express their opinions some more”.

He explained that the Easter holidays were coming and said that the MPs should carefully study the law until next week.

The PSD president also announced that the project can be consulted on the party’s website. However, the website crashed because of the high number of visitors.

Dragnea said that the draft bill would be sent to all the parliament groups so they could come up with amendments before the project is submitted in the Parliament. One day earlier, labor minister Lia Olguta Vasilescu announced that the new wage law project would be sent to the Parliament on Monday, and that the project would get to the President for promulgation in June.
