Romania’s Carol Novak wins his second medal at Paralympics

Cyclist Carol Eduard Novak has won another medal at the Paralympics for Romania. This time it was silver, in the individual road time trial event. It is Novak’s (in picture) and Romania’s second medal at the Paralympics, after he won the gold and set a new world record in the track pursuit cycling event.

Jiri Jezek of the Czech Republic, who Novak beat in the pursuit, got the better of his Romanian rival this time to take the gold medal. Bronze went to Jiri Bouska, also of the Czech Republic.

Both Carol Novak and Imre Torok will be representing Romania in the cycling road race event, which begins at 12:30 Romanian time today (September 6 ).

As well as the two cyclists, Romania’s paralympians include Naomi Ciorap, who competed in the 50m freestyle swimming event, Florin Marius Cojoc, competing in the long jump. Dacian Makszin took part in the table tennis competition, but unfortunately went out in the first round.
