One in four foreigners expelled from France are Romanians

A total of 10,471 foreigners were expelled from France in 2015, and almost a quarter of them were Romanians, namely 2,422, according to French newspaper LeParisien.

Romanians have to meet certain conditions to stay in France, such as having a job, or the French authorities can expel them from the country.

The Albanians represent the second largest group of foreigners expelled from France last year, with 1,934 cases, followed by Algerians – 831, Tunisians - 772, and Moroccans – 731.

The second-biggest EU citizen group in terms of expulsions was Bulgarians, with 285 cases, followed by Poles - 118, Spaniards - 105, and Brits - 65, according to data released by LeParisien.

When it comes to people who come from countries at war, the French authorities expelled 19 Afghan citizens, 11 Gambians, eight Iranians, 10 Sudanese and four Eritreans. Moreover, four Syrians were deported to Egypt.
