Romanians buy over 82,000 cars in three months
About 82,200 cars were registered in Romania in the first three months of the year, up by 19% compared to the same period in 2015.
Romanians acquired about 17,500 new cars between January and March, up 21% year-on-year. The number of used cars bought in this period reached some 65,000, up 18.5% year-on-year, according to data from the registrations office.
In March, about 6,572 new cars were registered in Romania, up 23% compared to the same month last year.
Dacia ranked first among the new cars registered in the first three months of 2016, with some 5,221 units, up 19.8% year-on-year. Skoda ranked second, with 1,533 cars, followed by Volkswagen - 1,463 units, and Ford - 1,305 units.
Volkswagen remains the favorite brand among the registered used cars in Romania, with 18,311 units sold in the first three months of the year.
