Romanian Transgaz gets EUR 179 mln financing for regional pipeline

12 September 2016

Romanian state-owned gas transporter Transgaz Medias has accessed a EUR 179 million grant from the European Commission to build the Bulgaria-Romania-Hungary-Austria (BRUA) pipeline.

The BRUA project means building a new corridor for gas transport that will transit Romania’s territory. This will attract new gas resources on the local market, according to the Energy Ministry.

The project will also boost constructions in the energy infrastructure sector. The new infrastructure will be connected to the possible new sources of gas from the Black Sea.

Romanian Energy Minister Victor Grigorescu took part at the signing of the documents for getting the EUR 179 mln grant on Friday, September 9.
