Romanian taxpayers complain less about tax authorities’ decisions

The number of appeals filed by taxpayers in the first half of 2016 dropped by almost half (47%) over the same period last year.

Romanians filed 4,185 appeals against the tax agency’s decisions in the first six months of this year. By comparison, ANAF received almost 7,800 appeals during the same period last year.

Moreover, local courts have confirmed the appeals rejected by the tax agency ANAF in almost 90% of the cases, according to ANAF. In the previous five years, the courts confirmed on average 77% of the appeals rejected by ANAF.
