Romanian students end 3-day protest against colleague with ADHD

21 October 2016

The seventh graders of the Pitesti "I.L. Caragiale" school will be penalized after protesting for three days in a row, together with their parents, for the exclusion of one of their colleagues who suffers from attention deficit disorder (ADHD).

Students argue that the boy had threatened and aggressed them, reports local Mediafax.

Dumitru Tudosoiu, leader of the county school inspectorate, said that the students returned to classes on Thursday, and the boy with ADHD was sent to a medical control at a clinic in Bucharest. Based on the result, the boy’s parents should agree to send him to a special school or home school him.

“We are making efforts to integrate the child and have his rights respected, but also for respecting the rights of the other kids in the class,” he said.
