Romanian PM: Reducing bureaucracy, a lengthy, irreversible process

19 September 2016

Results are starting to show two months after the Government started implementing the measures to reduce bureaucracy in public administration, said Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos on Friday.

Reducing bureaucracy is a lengthy, but irreversible process. The central authorities are now accepting ID copies by email. Moreover, the legalized copies of official documents have been removed.

Until now, people had to go with a copy of their ID or passport to the notary to get a legalized copy. This involved extra time and money.

People can also pay by card now at several public institutions, including at the tax agency ANAF. These are some of the measures aimed at reducing bureaucracy, which have been implemented in the last two months.
