Pharma plant Polisano Pharmaceuticals, opened after a EUR 70 million investment of the local group Polisano, started exporting oncology drugs to Germany and Spain.

It will also deliver to France, UK, Italy, Switzerland, and Poland by the end of the year, reports local Ziarul Financiar.

The plant, which is based in Sibiu, is the largest oncology factory in Central and Eastern Europe, with two lines dedicated to this project. The factory covers 33,000 sqm and has a production capacity of 32 million commercial units, or 682 million pharma units.

The Polisano group is owned by the local family Vonica. The group’s former owner Ilie Vonica committed suicide in 2014, after he and his wife Ioana Vonica had been investigated for tax evasion and money laundering.
