Romanian MEP Siegfried Muresan has initiated a Laboratory of Innovation for Public Policy, which aims to facilitate the exchange of experience among EU countries in terms of public policies that are more efficient and have lower costs.

The laboratory, which is a pilot project, has been inaugurated by the European Commission this week. It is part of the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, reports local Economica.net.

The project aims to identify and map the public policy laboratories of the EU member states and to bring together their representatives. This would allow an exchange of good practices and experience.

It would also help see if projects that were successful in some countries, can be successfully implemented in other countries as well.

Siegfried Muresan has run for the MEP office on the lists of the Romanian PMP party, led by the former president Traian Basescu.
