Local insurer CertAsig paid damages of EUR 4.39 million last year, up by 9.7% compared to the previous year.

The highest claim amounted to over EUR 0.8 million. The company paid it under a performance bond insurance, underwritten for an electrical parts factory in Transylvania.

The insurer also paid a claim of USD 1 million to a marine insurance policy in Turkey, as well as a claim of EUR 351,000 for a property insurance policy of a historical building in Bucharest, affected by a fire.

CertAsig has a market share of 2% on the general insurance segment in Romania. Last year, the company increased the total volume of gross written premiums by 12% reaching EUR 14.5 million.
