Romanian natural gas transporter Transgaz more than doubled its net profit in the first six months of this year, compared to the same period in 2013, to RON 294.3 million (almost EUR 66 million), according to the company’s report. In January-June 2013, the company’s profit was of RON 134.6 million.
Its revenues also increased to RON 873.1 million (over EUR 195 million) in the first half of 2014, up 14 percent year-on-year. The company’s total expenditures decreased by 12 percent in this period.
Transgaz is controlled by the state, which holds a 58.5 percent stake in the company.
