Swiss prosecutors recently heard Romanian broker Cristian Sima, who is under criminal investigation for fraud and money laundering and who ran away from the country in 2012.

Prosecutors heard him following a request by the Bucharest Court of Appeal Prosecutor, reports local Ziarul Financiar.

Sima caused a prejudice estimated at EUR 2.5 million, and is charged with nine offenses of money laundering and fraud.

Sima fled Romania in October 2012 when he was the president of the Sibiu bourse (Sibex). He said he had lost clients’ money and had to leave as some clients had threatened him.
