Romanian Embassy asks for identity of Manchester Arena blast victims

The Romanian Embassy in the UK has asked the British authorities to provide information about the nationality of the victims of the Manchester Arena explosion.

The Embassy is monitoring the situation and is ready to provide consular assistance if any Romanians have been affected by the blast, according to a press release of Romania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Romanian citizens can ask for consular assistance at the Romanian Embassy in the UK. The calls are taken over by the call center operators on a permanent basis or at the emergency number of the diplomatic mission.

At least 19 people died and about 50 people were injured in a blast that took place at the Manchester Arena on Monday night, at the end of a concert by the American singer Ariana Grande. It is believed to have been a terrorist attack.

The attack took place in the foyer area of the arena. Hundreds of people were fleeing in terror, and young people at the concert were separated from their parents in the chaos, the Guardian reported. This is the deadliest attack in Britain in a decade.
