A Romanian accidentally drove his car into a group of workers having lunch at a factory in Pitesti, Romania, killing a woman and injuring four other people.

The workers were having lunch at an outdoor terrace specially arranged for this purpose next to the Leoni wiring factory in Bascov, near Pitesti. The man who drove into them said he was also an employee of the same factory and that he had come to make a delivery. He told the police that he accelerated his car too much when he left and he lost control, according to local Mediafax.

The car went through a fence separating the parking lot from the space where the workers were having lunch and ran over five people. A woman died and the other four people were injured. The dead woman was apparently Serbian as was one of the injured people.

Some 60 people were having lunch there when the accident occurred.

The Police will charge the man with manslaughter and injury by negligence.
