Romanian director of Danone’s regional business appointed commercial VP of Russian operations

Romanian Adrian Pascu, currently the general director of Danone Romania, Bulgaria and The Adriatic, has been appointed commercial VP of Danone Russia, the Dairy Division, starting March 6.

Pascu will be reporting to the general director of Danone Russia, the Dairy Division. He will coordinate commercial operations of over EUR 1.3 billion in turnover. Until a replacement for his post is announced, Paolo Maria Tafuri, the general director of Danone CEE, will take over his responsibilities.

Pascu worked for Danone Russia before, between 2013 and 2015, when he was a sales director for the Moscow division. Previously, he held various management positions at Danone Romania. He is a graduate of the Physics Faculty of the Iasi University in Romania.

“We have a solid regional production center in Romania, with a performance recognized internationally within the company, and we are growing in the segments where we are strongly differentiated, such as the active health or children products ones. From the leader position on the yogurt segment, I brought my share to the development of the category and of the local partners, such as the milk suppliers for the Bucharest plant, and the local team will continue to focus on these directions,” Pascu said.

Danone Romania recorded revenues of over EUR 107 million in 2015, up 6% on the previous year. Its biggest competitors on the local market are Dutch FrieslandCampina, French Lactalis, and Greek Olympus.
