Local cosmetics producer opens first Gerovital store in Romania

Romanian cosmetics producer Farmec Cluj opened its first Gerovital store in Romania on Tuesday, September 20.

Located in Bucharest’s newest mall, ParkLake, the store covers 52 sqm, and its arrangement has required an investment of EUR 67,000, according to a company statement.

The new shop’s offer includes all Gerovital and Aslavital products, as well as consulting advice on how to use these products. Moreover, until September 25, the clients will benefit from a 20% discount on any acquisition.

The new opening is part of Farmec’s strategy to improve and upgrade its store network in Romania. The company currently runs eight distribution points in Cluj, Bucharest, Arges, Sibiu, Brasov, and Neamt, and three branches in Baia Mare, Craiova, and Focsani.

Farmec also has six shops in Cluj-Napoca, Arad, Sibiu, and Targu Mures. This week, the cosmetics producer will open a second Gerovital store in Constanta seaside resort.

Farmec is the biggest Romanian cosmetics producer. Its products are currently sold in more 30 countries. The companies has opened Gerovital stores in Greece, France, and Spain.

Gerovital went up to first place in this year's ranking of the most powerful Romanian brands published by local Biz magazine. Farmec is fourth in the same ranking.

Farmec is the largest Romanian cosmetics producer. The company had sales of close to EUR 39 million and a net profit of over EUR 3.1 million in 2015.

The company owns several internationally recognized brands, such as Gerovital H3, Gerovital Plant, Aslavital and Farmec. The Gerovital anti-aging cosmetics, created by Romanian biologist and physician Ana Aslan, have become famous worldwide during the communist regime.
