23 February 2017

The Romanian-Austrian magic couple Anca and Lucca Lucian won the title of European champions in mental magic at the European Championships of Magic that took place last weekend in Blackpool, UK.

It was the first time when the gold medal was awarded in the mental magic category, reports local Agerpres.

Their magic show The Mind-Reading Revolution brought the two a score of 80 points. They presented their show in front of 3,000 magicians from around the world, their performance being rated by an international jury.

Anca and Lucca are also vice world champions in mental magic, following the result obtained in Rimini, Italy, in 2015. With this new title of European champions, the two are now automatically qualified for the world championship next year, which will be held in South Korea.

Anca Lucian was born in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, on December 10, 1984, but grew up in Oradea. At age 18, she went to study in Vienna with a scholarship. There, in 2011, she met her future husband and stage partner Lucca. He is a professional illusionist, practicing magic for more than 20 years.

In 2016, Anca gave up her 10-year corporate career and became a professional magician.
