Romanian Ana Maria Pavel wins bronze at European Wrestling Championship in Belgrade

Romanian Ana Maria Pavel won bronze on Thursday ( March 8 ), in the women’s 55 kg freestyle wrestling category, at the European Wrestling Championships in Belgrade. She defeated Roksana Maria Zasina from Poland.

On the same day, Romanian Marius Atofani (74 kg) was eliminated in the first round by his Armenian opponent, while Rares Chintoan (120 kg) was defeated in the second round by Russian Bahtiar Ahmetov. Also, Roxana Nastrusnicu (67 kg) was eliminated by Filipova Manolova from Bulgaria.

Over the European Wrestling Championship’s first two days, Romania has picked up a silver medal through Estera Dobre (48 kg), and a fifth place through George Bucur (60 kg).

The European Wrestling Championship in Belgrade will end on March 11, 2012.
